LuL Pet Strategies - Best LuL Pet Abilities

Updated December 15, 2019

Introduction

Welcome to the Clash of Streamers LuL pet strategies guide; a guide on the best LuL pet auto-skill and passive ability strategies.

LuL pets feature a wide range of unique abilities; both for auto-skill and passive abilities.

LuL pet passive abilities focus on two primary areas:

  • Reducing costs to complete Weekly Events
  • Improving rewards from Weekly Events

In this guide we will go over the various LuL pet auto-skill abilities and passive abilities, analyze the potential effectiveness of each, and determine the combination of abilities which might have the biggest impact on your overall account progression.

Auto-Skill Abilities

LuL pets have a total of 7 auto-skill (combat) abilities.

They are the following:

Guardian Angel

Auto-Skill: As a guardian angel you can protect your teammates as your attacks have a 50% chance to heal the ally with the lowest health by 90% of your attack.

High Tolerance

Auto-Skill: You have a high tolerance to poison; reducing the damage you take from poison by 60%.

Froststrike

Auto-Skill: Your basic attacks become froststrikes that have a 15% chance to freeze the enemy for one round.

Poison Armor

Auto-Skill: You are protected by poison armor, when you are attacked, the attacker runs a 60% risk of getting poisoned for (30% of attack) damage for 3 rounds.

Healing Spirit

Auto-Skill: Attacks heal front-line allies by 55% of your attack.

Damnation

Auto-Skill: Increases your damage against Mages by 80%.

Healing Strike

Auto-Skill: Attacks heal you for 30% of your attack.

Before unlocking the ability to use one of these auto-skills, you must first have an active LuL pet guardian. This only happens once you have captured the LuL hatchery, and your Loyalty Tree has been upgraded to at least level 2.

For more information on how to setup auto-skill abilities and apply them to certain heroes, take a look at the Pet Abilities Guide.

In the sections below, we will look at some of the best strategies possible with these auto-skill abilities.

Double Stun Strategy

Froststrike

Auto-skill: Your basic attacks become froststrikes that have a 15% chance to freeze the enemy for one round.

The strategy that involves this ability is potentially one of the best ways you can use a LuL pet guardian.

To start, you need a Hunter with the following auto-skill abilities:

  • Double Shot
  • Stunning Arrow

These two abilities will allow you to attack two targets at once, with a 20% chance to stun each of them. Overall, Double Shot gives you a 36% chance to stun at least 1 of 2 enemies that you hit.

When you have a LuL pet guardian with the Froststrike ability applied to your Hunter, you additionally have another 15% chance to stun one of two heroes each attack. Overall, Froststrike gives you a 28% chance to stun at least 1 of 2 enemies that you hit each turn.

In total, with both of these abilities combined, you have a 54% chance to stun at least 1 of 2 enemies that you hit each turn.

This has extremely high crowd control potential, allowing for an insanely effective support Hunter class.

Overall, one very good ability-set to use on a Hunter with this strategy would be the following:

A Hunter with this build will be extremely effective at locking up enemies with stuns and freezes. Additionally, the Rebirth ability grants a second life just in case the Hunter is dropped quickly by some crazy multiplier.

The crowd control potential of this build is insane!

  • When using the ultimate ability, you have a (1 - (0.75 * 0.75 * 0.75 * 0.75)) = 0.68359375 ~ 68% of freezing at least 1 of 4 backline enemies.
  • When using a basic attack, you have a (1 - ((0.8 * 0.8) * (0.85 * 0.85))) = 0.5376 ~ 54% to stun or freeze at least 1 of 2 enemies.

This is one of the most effective support Hunter builds out there, and is probably the best strategy to use with your LuL pet guardian.

Passive Abilities

LuL pets have a total of 9 unique passive abilities.

Gemcutter

Passive: Allows you to cut a better deal for the Gem Event, increasing the rewards from the Gem Event by 1%.

Upgrade Expert

Passive: Your experience with upgrading increases the rewards from the Upgrade Event by 1%.

Skilled Summoner

Passive: Your skill in summoning increases the rewards from the Summon Event by 1%.

Lucky Charm

Passive: Luck is on your side and increases the rewards from the Get Lucky Event by 1%.

Gem Bargain

Passive: Allows you to bargain for the Gem Event, lowering the requirements to complete it by 1%.

Summon Bargain

Passive: Allows you to bargain for the Summon Event, lowering the requirements to complete it by 1%.

Upgrade Bargain

Passive: Allows you to bargain for the Upgrade Event, lowering the requirements to complete it by 1%.

Luck Bargain

Passive: Allows you to bargain for the Get Lucky Event, lowering the requirements to complete it by 1%.

Upgrade Booster

Passive: Allows you to boost the number of gems earned from upgrades by 1%.

All of these abilities focus on one primary objective: Weekly Events!

With these abilities, you can drastically improve the rewards from Weekly Events while spending fewer resources.

Since Weekly Events are such a fundamental part of Clash of Streamers, it’s extremely important to take advantage of these LuL pet abilities.

Weekly Event Strategy

Every unique LuL passive ability will improve Weekly Events in some way or another.

Each ability improves one of two areas of a Weekly Event:

  • Completion requirements
  • Rewards

With lowered event completion requirements and increased rewards, you can earn a significantly higher amount of loot if you utilize these abilities wisely.

The Weekly Event LuL pet strategy boils down to the following:

  1. Every week, load up on a ton of resources/heroes.
  2. At the end of the week, determine which Weekly Event you aim to complete (whichever resource you have the most of).
  3. Before the weekly reset, equip your active LuL pet with abilities that improve your loot and reduce the completion requirements from the Weekly Event you aim to complete.

The essence of this strategy comes down to loading up on resources, and then equipping your active LuL pet with the abilities that improve your rewards and ability to complete a certain Weekly Event.

As a free-to-play player, it is unlikely you will be able to complete more than one Weekly Event per week. This is what makes this strategy perfect for free-to-play players!

For more info on completing Weekly Events, see the Weekly Events Guide.

By using this strategy each week, you will make the most of your Weekly Event resources by improving the rewards and spending fewer resources.

For example, when you are looking to complete the Get Lucky Event, you want to enable the following abilities:

Lucky Charm

Passive: Luck is on your side and increases the rewards from the Get Lucky Event by 1%.

Luck Bargain

Passive: Allows you to bargain for the Get Lucky Event, lowering the requirements to complete it by 1%.

This is a simple example of the abilities you should look to enable before completing the Get Lucky Event. For every other event, it's pretty much the same case. There is one ability that reduces the completion requirements of a certain Weekly Event, and another that improves the rewards.

However, when looking to complete the Upgrade Event, you should also equip the Upgrade Booster ability.

Upgrade Booster

Passive: Allows you to boost the number of Gems earned from upgrades by 1%.

This will allow you to earn a lot more Gems from upgrades in addition to the reduced completion requirements and additional rewards.

Since most of the time there are usually only two abilities which improve a certain Weekly Event, you have one spare slot for an additional ability.

The safest bet for your last ability will pretty much always be either Pet Crypto Hodler or Streamer Crypto Hodler.

Increased passive Crypton generation is something which pretty much every player will get a lot of value from, so this is a clear ability which works in any scenario when you need one more passive ability.

Check out the Passive Crypton Guide for more on earning passive Crypton.

Of course, if you want to work towards a different strategy with a different one of the shared passive abilities, you can do so. It’s completely up to you!
